Edinburgh-Active Travel Improvements -George St to Meadows

This event led by CIHT Scotland will provide an overview of the Meadows to George Street projects in Edinburgh including the restructuring of the traffic system. The event will be followed by a live Q&A and the awarding of the CIHT Scotland Young Professional and Apprentice of the Year Awards for 2020.

Speakers 
Paul Matthews – Associate Director, AECOM

Paul is an experienced designer, programme and project manager/director and his career has focused on walking, cycling and place making.  He is interested in creating better places through co-design with local people.  He has led teams of engineers and urban designers to deliver a variety of active travel network and route design projects from inception to delivery.

Martyn Lings – Senior Project Manager – Active Travel, City of Edinburgh Council

Martyn is a senior project manager in the Active Travel team for the City of Edinburgh Council. Having worked with Sustrans and the Council for 8 years, he has a board range of experience in design and delivery of walking and cycling schemes. He has particular interests in the design of human scaled streets and public spaces.
