DESCRIPTION:Site Visit to Kintore Station \nThe £14.5m station will reconnect Kintore to the rail network for the first time in 56 years. \nFunded by Transport Scotland\, Aberdeenshire Council and Nestrans\, the new station will have step-free access between platforms through a footbridge with lifts. \nProviding an interchange between rail and road\, the station will have around 170 car parking spaces\, bike storage and connect into the local bus network.The station will be constructed over the next 12 months and is due to enter service in May 2020. DESCRIPTION:Matt Eastwood – Uber\, Head of Cities\, North East of England and Scotland \nThis is an opportunity to hear about Uber operations in Glasgow and Edinburgh and their plans for the rest of Scotland. The evening will include a short presentation followed by an extended Q&A session that will allow attendees to put their questions to Matt. Matt has previously worked with the Energy Saving Trust (EST) and CoMoUK (previously CarPlus) so is well placed to answer a wide range of questions.\n \n\n\n\n\nIn addition\, for those arriving between 1730-1800\, there will be an opportunity to tour the Community Food Initiative North East (CFINE)\, a social enterprise committed to social\, environmental and economic development. This includes their warehouse operations\, electric cargo bikes and tuk tuk! This event is jointly presented by Charted Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)\, Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) and MaaS Scotland\, and is open to CIHT/CILT Members and students at the University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University.

DESCRIPTION:Delivery of Kintore Station \nThis event will provide attendees with an overview of the reopening of Kintore Rail Station in Aberdeenshire. In October 2020\, services began calling at the station again following its closure in December 1964. \nThe session will cover: \n\nThe history of the station reopening\, including community campaigns\, feasibility studies and applying for Scottish Stations Funding;\nPartnership working between Aberdeenshire Council\, Nestrans\, Transport Scotland\, Network Rail\, ScotRail and BAM Nuttall;\n\nSpeaker –  Paul Finch\nTransport Strategy Manager – Nestrans \nPaul is Strategy Manager for Nestrans\, North East Scotland’s Regional Transport Partnership. In his work he leads on the transport aspects of the area’s City Region Deal\, and is currently also focussed on finalising Nestrans’ Regional Transport Strategy. He previously worked for Aberdeenshire Council working on a range of strategic transport projects including Kintore Station\, and prior to that spent 15 years in consultancy\, with an interest in rural area accessibility and transport appraisal. He’s TPP qualified\, and chairs SCOTS Transport Working Group\, and enjoys running and cycling.
