Technology with Tradition: Digital Scanning & Repair of Fort George

Friday, May 17, 2019 @ 11:30 am - 4:00 pm

£40

The imposing Fort George was designed by Lieutenant-General William Skinner and built by the Adam family of architects. It took 22 years to complete and has served the British Army for the almost 250 years since.

To mark this 250 anniversary, Historic Environment Scotland (HES) will commence the digital scanning of areas of Fort George in May 2019. This event will include a practical demonstration of the digital scanning process, time lapse footage of the process, interpretation of the scan outcomes and guest speakers discussing the relevance and application of digital scanning in preserving our built heritage.
